I arrived in Istanbul on Friday. The city is amazingly active and there are sights everywhere to be seen. While I have spent the last few days focused on getting to know the family I will be working for, here are a few pics from my first few days here.
Flight from Chicago to Istanbul

From the air...as daylight was peeking through. Only about 7 hours from when I had seen the sun set on my flight from Phoenix to Chicago.

View from the upstairs living room! This morning I was greeted by the horns of boats on the Bosphorus as I was waking up.

I will say...with the city being so busy and compact, there is NO way I will be driving! Every street is packed with cars. I don't think blinkers or lane lines exist! :) Seriously, a street with 3 lanes means 5 cars can fit. It's like how I imagined the streets to look if a natural disaster were to hit America and people had to flee the area. And the residential streets are about the size of two driving lanes...but there are cars parked on both sides and you have to hope nobody is coming in the opposite direction.
